Toldregler.dk is an independent information site. We are not the Danish Customs Agency (Toldstyrelsen) or any other authority, and our answers are not binding decisions.

Who is behind it?

Toldregler.dk is run privately and was created out of a wish for a simple customs calculator that shows the whole bill – customs duty, VAT, fees and amounts you have already paid.

The aim is to give an honest and transparent overview – also when a calculation is too uncertain to give an exact answer.

The site is independent of webshops, carriers and authorities.

How we work

Every rule is checked against an official source – EU regulations, the Danish VAT Act (momsloven) or the Danish Customs Agency's guidance – before it is used. The source and the date it was checked are shown with each guide. See sources and method.

What does the site cover?

The calculator covers private online purchases from webshops. Gifts and travel have their own guides. For business purchases (B2B), alcohol and tobacco, goods over EUR 150 with an unknown commodity code and unclear exemptions, we don't calculate an exact amount – there we refer you to the Danish Customs Agency.

Toldregler.dk uses no cookies and stores nothing on your computer or phone – which is also why there is no cookie banner. Read more under privacy and cookies.

Any ads are never placed in or next to the calculator's result and never look like a result button. We do not sell personal data.
