Customs at the airport
If you travel into Denmark by air or sea from a country outside the EU, you can normally bring ordinary purchases worth up to DKK 3,250 without customs duty, VAT and excise duties. Tobacco and alcohol have their own allowances.

The value limit
The limit applies to goods in your personal luggage. It cannot be split: a single product – or articles that work together – may not be divided between travellers or journeys to stay under the limit.
Tobacco and alcohol from countries outside the EU
| Goods | Allowance |
|---|---|
| Tobacco – choose one of these | |
| Cigarettes | 200 pcs |
| or cigarillos (max. 3 g each) | 100 pcs |
| or cigars | 50 pcs |
| or smoking tobacco | 250 g |
| Spirits or fortified wine – choose one | |
| Spirits over 22% | 1 l |
| or fortified wine up to 22% | 2 l |
| In addition | |
| Table wine | 4 l |
| Beer | 16 l |
You must be at least 17 years old. The tobacco types cannot be combined – you choose one of them.
Red or green channel?
Choose the red channel if you have goods to declare or are in doubt. If you are stopped in the green channel with goods over the limit, the fine is normally twice the customs duty and taxes for tobacco, spirits, gold, silver and jewellery – and the same amount as the duty and taxes for other goods.
